Volunteering at Age Concern Teesside
We are always pleased to hear from anyone who wishes to volunteer to assist in the provision of our services to older people.
What can volunteers do?
Volunteers currently carry out a range of tasks including

Driving a mini-bus
-
Acting as escort on mini-bus journeys
-
Preparing and serving meals
-
Leading social activities
-
Leading short walks and exercise classes
-
Leading arts and crafts groups
-
Providing computer classes
-
Providing Advice & Information services
-
Providing administration support
Is there an age limit and how much time must I commit to giving?
Volunteers must be aged over 18, but there is no upper age limit, other than for drivers who must be under 70. You can commit as many hours as you wish from a minimum of two hours per week.
Will I receive any training?
Any training required will be provided at no cost to the volunteer. Drivers will need to take MiDAS (Mini Bus Drivers Awareness Scheme) training and hold an appropriate drivers licence.
Can I claim expenses?
All reasonable travelling expenses incurred in carrying out your volunteering duties will be re-imbursed.
