What is Age Concern?

Many people are under the misapprehension that Age Concern is a large national charity led from London.

In reality each local Age Concern is an independent charity responsible for its own fundraising and activity. We do however work together with other Age Concerns regionally and nationally through a federal structure.

The main aim of this website is to introduce Age Concern Teesside and our services.

The purpose of Age Concern Teesside is to 'promote the health and well-being of older people in Teesside...'

...and we do this by

· Campaigning and pressing for change

· Working in partnership with others

· Direct services

· Providing information and advice

The level at which we can achieve this aim is dependent on everyone being involved at an appropriate level and the funding available.
